July 4, 1776 we declared our independence from British rule. No longer would we answer to a monarch, but to ourselves. We had to keep fighting for our freedom until 1783. Blood was shed for 7 more years! Not until 1787 was The Declaration of Independence adopted. That was 11 years after those wonderful 56 men met to write that glorious declaration.
The second sentence of the declaration reads:
We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Be careful of what history your children are being taught. It is probably not the truth. Seek writings from the founders of our country, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and Alexander Hamilton to name a few. Do not let you or your children be dumbed down or brain washed with the information that the mainstream media is serving.
